Frédérique VARDA (Soprano)
Frédérique Varda was born in Paris and after studying dance and flute, she began her vocal studies at the Schola Cantorum. She subsequently trained with Albert Lance in Antibes, Peggy Bouveret and Arlene Thiel in Paris. She participated in many master classes, among them those of Elizabeth Cooper.
Frédérique made her stage debut in the Festival of Auvers sur Oise, under the auspices of Eve Ruggieri. From that period to the present she has performed in a great many recitals, operettas and operas
As concert soloist she has often sung the Carmina Burana of Karl Orff, as well as the Mass in C, Exultate Jubilate and the Coronation Mass of Mozart.
Among her opera roles, she sang Lakmé in Carcassone and Nantes in 2006, then Rosina in the French version of The Barber of Seville at the Théâtre des Hauts de Seine in Puteaux, and Frau Herz in The Theatre Director (Mozart) at the Tambour Royal in Paris. In 2007 she sang Gilda in Rigoletto in Carcassone and Perpignan and Violetta in La Traviata in Cavallaire. In 2008 she was Jeanette in Les Noces de Jeanette (Massé) at the Théâtre de l’Odéon in Marseille.

Lakmé avec Frédéric Mazotta
Also saw Frédérique as the Queen of the Night in an adaptation of The Magic Flute at the Comedia Theater, in a series that lasted for four months. During the same year she made her debut as Norina in Don Pasquale in Monaco and resang Lakmé in Mérignac and Marseille.
In 2009 Frédérique made her debut in the role of Leïla in Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers. Another debut was the role of Missia in Lehar’s The Merry Widow in Aix les Bains. 2009 Ended with a major concert tour with Alexise Yerna, accompanied by the Douai Orchestra under the baton of Bruno Membrey included music from The Tales of Hoffmann, Lakmé and works by Rossini. In January 2010 Frédérique has been part of «Broadway Lights» at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris with David Charles Abbell. This original programme, on an idea of Christophe Mirambeau, has been accompanied by the Pasdeloup Orchestra. Upcoming engagements include the role of Arlette in the French version of Fledermaus in Toulouse, In June 2010 Gilda, then Lakmé at the Théâtre des Variétés in Monaco and the queen of the night in Soustons (France).
